Learie Barclay joined the Roraima Team as a Commercial Pilot and Safety Officer in January 2003. A former Guyanese Army Officer with approximately eight (8) years of service in various units from the Infantry to the Special Forces, he acquired his Pilots’ Licence during his career in the army. Following his retirement from the army, he served as the Administration & Information Technology Director of Aviation Training Services where he was involved in Aviation Law and International Regulations training. In addition to his regulations background, Learie also has extensive training in aviation security, safety management systems, environmental management systems, and is an ISO 19011 Lead Auditor. Learie is the author of the Roraima Airways Flight Operations Manual and a Ground Handling Trainer for Ramp Procedures, Customer Service Procedures, Dangerous Goods Recognition, and Transportation of Disabled Passengers. Learie, who is the Advisor to the Managing Director on Safety and Technical Matters, was promoted to Operations Manager in December 2006. Learie is a motor racing enthusiast. |
